BECOME A LIFEGUARD

We’re running a Lifeguard course during the Summer holidays between Monday 22 – Saturday 27 July 2024

Considering a change in career or looking for a part time job?

Becoming a Lifeguard is a great stepping stone for a variety of jobs and careers such as leisure, coaching and medical. You will learn life long skills including communication & working as a team. Whatsmore this course gets your 8 UCAS tariff points!

If you’re interested in working at the Sports Centre, you can apply for a position and if successful and you aren’t qualified you could be within the chance to gain this course at no cost to yourself!

Lifeguard Course Prerequisites

Every candidate attending a NPLQ course must be 16 years old or above at the time of taking the NPLQ final assessment and be able to:

• Jump/dive into deep water
• Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
• Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water
• Tread water for 30 seconds
• Surface dive to the floor of the pool
• Climb out unaided without a ladder/steps and where the pool design permits.
